Newcastle All Breeds Dog Training Club runs two dog training beginners’ streams in parallel. You can select your preferred dog training stream

If you choose the Motivational group please try to indicate your choice before the first Sunday by contacting the Club.

    Beginners (Yellow)

We aim for 15 dogs max in each class, but this is dependent on Instructor availability. These dog training classes:

    • May have 3 different Instructors across training sessions on any one Sunday.
    • Requires Handlers to choose the most appropriate training patterns for themselves and their dog.
    • Good for dogs requiring dogs/people socialisation.
    • Use of food reward is up to the handlers.

    Motivational (Yellow)

Motivational Training is the preferred method of dog training by positive reinforcement, a rewards-based training technique. This is the preferred method of dog training as recommended by Dogs NSW (previously RNSWCC), the RSPCA and the Australian Veterinary Association.

    Agility Training

The aim of a dog agility competition is for a handler to direct their dog around a course of different obstacles. The handler must rely on the dog to negotiate all those obstacles correctly, and the dog must rely on the handler to indicate which obstacle is next.
